How to Add a Whole Apple Music Playlist to Wedding Player in One Tap

If you have ever built a long prelude or a register-signing list inside Wedding Player, you will know the slow way: open your Apple Music playlist, tap to add the first song, scroll, tap the next, scroll, tap the next. For a playlist of twenty tracks that is twenty taps and a lot of scrolling.

There is a faster way, and it has been there for a while. It is just easy to miss.

The Add All button

When you open an Apple Music playlist inside Wedding Player on your iPhone or iPad, there is an Add All button at the top of the list. Tap it once and every track in that playlist is added to your moment in one go, in the same order they sit in the playlist.

That is the whole tip. It is not a new feature, it has shipped since Wedding Player first connected to Apple Music. We have simply made the button more prominent because plenty of couples had never spotted it.

One thing worth knowing: a single moment holds up to 200 tracks, a limit that keeps playback smooth and every song ready to play offline on the day. You are very unlikely to reach it, since even a generous prelude is only a dozen songs or so. If you ever did point Add All at a giant library playlist, it simply brings in the first 200 and tells you so.

This is an iPhone and iPad feature, because it works through Apple Music. On Android there is no Apple Music, so you build your moments from your own audio files or from the other music sources instead. Our guide to adding music to Wedding Player covers every route on both platforms.

When it is most useful

Add All earns its keep on the moments that take more than one song:

• The prelude as guests arrive. This is a playlist, not a single track. You want eight to twelve songs to cover the unpredictable window while everyone is seated. Build that list in Apple Music, then drop the lot in with one tap.
• Signing the register. Another moment with no fixed length, where you queue more music than you think you will need so the room never falls silent. See our guide to music for signing the register.
• Any moment where you have already done the work in Apple Music. If your playlist already exists, there is no reason to rebuild it song by song.

If you were building Apple Music playlists for your wedding before you ever found Wedding Player, that is good news: you have already done a lot of the work. Every one of those playlists carries straight across with a single tap. You are not starting from a blank list, you are bringing across a list you have already shaped and can now trim, reorder and cue for the day.

Then tidy it up

Adding the whole playlist gets the songs in quickly. It does not lock anything in. Once the tracks are in your moment you can reorder them, remove any that did not make the cut, and trim individual songs so each one starts and ends exactly where you want.
